What Even Is the “Old Version”?
Namco made Tekken 3 in 1997 for PlayStation. They never made an Android version. What exists now is a fan-made port — someone took the PS1 files and rebuilt the game to run directly on Android phones.
Over the years, different builds came out. Some were bigger with better audio. Some were smaller to fit on budget phones. The latest one (61MB) is polished and works best on phones from 2019 onwards.
The older builds — especially the 35MB one — were made when older Androids were still common. They’re lighter on RAM, take less space, and actually run smoother on low-end hardware than the newer version does.
Nothing is missing from the old version. All characters. All modes. All moves. The game is identical. It’s just optimized differently.
Why Do People Still Download the Old Version?
Simple reasons, honestly.
Storage.
The 35MB build is less than half the size of the latest. On a phone with 16GB total storage and half of it already used, that matters. A lot.
Old phones run it better.
The 61MB V1.3 was built for Android 8 and above. On phones running Android 5 or 6, it sometimes stutters. The older builds don’t have that problem — they were made for those Android versions in the first place.

This is the last resort option. And sometimes the last resort is exactly what you need.
Under 500MB storage left? 512MB RAM? Android so old the 35MB version gives you a black screen? The 21MB build handles it.
What’s different? Audio is more compressed. Some background textures are lower quality. The touch control layout is more basic. But the fights work. All characters work. All modes work. If your phone can run anything at all, it can run this.
42 MB and 49 MB — What Are These?
The V1.0 (42MB) is the original fan port. The very first one. Works best on phones where even newer builds cause random crashes. It’s the most basic but also the most compatible with weird older devices.
The V1.1 (49MB) was the first real update. Fixed crashes that happened on specific Samsung and Xiaomi phones. Improved touch control response slightly. If V1.0 is giving you trouble, try V1.1 — it often solves the problem without needing to go up to the 35MB build.
For most people though, 35MB is still the answer.
